Tips for planning a vacation while using a Travel Agent!
Planning a vacation can be time-consuming especially if you are going to a place you haven’t been before.
Using a Travel Agent can help make the planning easier but you still need to do some research for yourself.
Have an idea of how much your trip will cost before you contact a Travel Agent.
This is an important one! Please don’t expect a Champagne vacation on a Beer budget. It’s good to know if you can afford that trip to Hawaii or if you need to just go to a local beach. Travel Agents don’t enjoy telling a client that their budget is unrealistic. Your Travel Agent should do their best to find you a good deal but you need to make sure your budget isn’t too low.
Will you be flying, driving, taking a train or going on a cruise?
Of course, this will depend on where you are going and how much time you will be on vacation. If you are going on a cruise or on the train, you might need to fly to the port or train station first. If you are driving, do you want a rental car?
How long do you want to stay?
I know this is a basic question but you need to consider travel time. You don’t want to go on a 7-day cruise if you are on vacation for 7 days.
Who will be going with you?
Are you going alone or with friends/family? The Travel Agent needs to know how many people to book for. Also ages of children at the time of travel.
Where would you like to stay?
Do you have a hotel brand that you prefer? Maybe you want to stay in a house or cabin. Depending on the number of people going, this option could be really budget friendly. Enjoy camping, maybe a campground is a better fit for you.
Are you traveling with your fur-baby or fur-babies?
Your Travel Agent needs to make sure to book a pet-friendly place to stay! I love taking my fur-babies with me. For more on traveling with your fur-baby read this post Traveling with my Dog. You might also want to read this post about hotel stays Tips for Staying in a Hotel.
