Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is one of my favorites.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is about a 7 hours drive from me if I drive straight through. It’s also the first long road trip I did with my boys.

Everyone is always so friendly!

I enjoy an area more if the people are friendly! I know businesses want you to spend your money at their place of business but not all of them have good employees. In Myrtle Beach, it seems that all of the employees were nice and helpful in every business we went to.

My favorite place for breakfast.

Harry’s is a wonderful place to have breakfast. It was within walking distance of the hotel and beach. The food is very good. The service is great! Service is a big thing for me. I always expect great service and tip very well for that service. By the end of our vacation, we were known by the servers and brought our drinks without asking for them. Although my boys are grown, I still go here for breakfast when I visit Myrtle Beach.

There are tons of things to do besides relaxing on the beach!

I enjoy just hanging out on the beach and relaxing with the sand between my toes. I know this isn’t what everyone goes to the beach for though.

Myrtle Beach is full of businesses to help you do whatever water sport you want. Fishing, scuba diving, jet ski rentals and some will even give lessons.

You can also do dolphin cruises, go-carts, parasailing, banana boat rides, zip lines, water parks, golf, amusement parks and live outside concerts.

Then, of course, there is Ripley’s!

I enjoy walking on the beach at sunrise and sunset. It’s just so beautiful and relaxing!  Plus you never know what seashell you might find!

Something for everyone!

Myrtle Beach has something for everyone! Plan ahead and book all rentals and activities before you go. Plan other things around what you have booked.

A few budget-friendly tips!

Get a room with a kitchen/kitchenette! Take a trip to the local grocery store. Even if you make just one meal a day in your room, you can save a good bit of money. This is especially true if you have children. You can buy stuff for sandwiches, favorite snacks, and drinks at the store.

Take a cooler with you to the beach. From that trip to the store, fill that cooler! Save a ton by doing this! When my boys would ask for a drink or snack, I would point them to the cooler. Plus if they don’t finish their drink, it can go right back into the cooler.

Stay a block or two from the beach. Really think about how much you want that room right on the beach! Compare prices for hotels that offer everything you want and make sure the extra money for that room on the beach is a must have for you!

Until next time, safe travels,
